Alfred Captures Third Consecutive Empire 8 and State Men's Swimming and Diving Championships

The Alfred University men’s swimming and diving team wrapped up its third straight Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association (UNYSCSA) championship Saturday. The Saxons earned their fourth state title in Brian Striker’s seven-year head coaching tenure. The UNYSCSA meet also serves as the Empire 8 Conference championships; Alfred’s E8 title was the team’s fifth in the last seven years.

Alfred to Host Hartwick in First Empire8.tv Swimming and Diving Webcast on Saturday

Alfred University will host Hartwick College Saturday at 1 p.m. in the first swimming and diving meet to ever be webcast on Empire8.tv. The Alfred men have won three of the last four Empire 8 championships with Hartwick winning the other one in that span. The meet can be viewed for free on the Empire 8 television network. Ithaca Women, Alfred Men Finish First at Don Richards Swimming and Diving Invitational at RIT

The defending Empire 8 team champions captured the titles at the RIT Don Richards Invitational. The Alfred University men and Ithaca College women each pulled away for decisive victories. Hartwick College placed second in the men's and women's competitions. Five conference schools participated in the annual event.

Alfred Wins Second Consecutive Empire 8 Men's Swimming and Diving Championship
