Dani Dudek of Stevens Featured in "Faces In The Crowd" Section of Sports Illustrated

HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 25, 2008) – Stevens Institute of Technology junior guard Dani Dudek was featured in the “Faces In The Crowd” section of the March 31 issue of Sports Illustrated. She was recognized after being named the Empire 8 Player of the Year on March 4.  

In her junior year, Dudek posted three triple-doubles, while averaging 12.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game, which led the country. She also shot 41.8 percent (124-for-297) from the field and 79.0 percent (113-for-143) from the foul line.

Aside from being named the player of the year in early March, Dudek was tabbed as a member of the D3hoops.com All-East Region second-team on March 19. Two days later, she was named a WBCA Honorable Mention All-American – the first in the history of the women’s basketball program.

In 2007-08, the Ducks posted an overall mark of 24-6, which set a record for wins in a single-season for the third time in as many years. They also recorded a 15-1 ledger in the Empire 8. Furthermore, Stevens captured its first-ever ECAC Division III Metro Championship with a 57-50 win at Montclair State University on March 9.
