Hartwick Women’s Tennis Rolls Past St. John Fisher 8-1 to Wrap Up Empire 8 Play

ONEONTA, NY- Hartwick women's tennis swept all three doubles matches, and five out of six singles matches to earn an 8-1 victory on Saturday. The Hawks improve to 5-6 on the season and 4-4 in the E8. Fisher falls to 5-6 on the season and 3-4 in the E-8.

Freshmen Angelica Cofer (Litchfield, CT/ Litchfield) won in the second singles flight by a score of 6-2, 6-0 over Marrissa Rotondo. Seniors Kim Post (Nashua, NH/North Middlesex Reg.), Carly Jesset ( Shelburne, VT/Champlain Valley Union), Emily Scarano ( Little Falls, NY/ Little Falls), and Christina Sorrentino (Sherrill, NY/ VVS) were all victorious on the day.

Post won in the third singles flight, by a score 6-4, 7-5 over Kathryn Paizer. Sorrentino won at fourth singles 6-1, 6-0 over Kaitlin Smith. Jesset earned a victory at fifth singles 6-1, 6-1, and Scarano took sixth singles 7-5, 6-2.

Jen Lin (Albany, NY/Colonie) and Post won easily 8-3 in first doubles. Cofer and Sorrentino won by the same score in second doubles. Scarano and Jesset earned a victory 8-1 in the third doubles flight.
