Ithaca Women’s Cross Country Finishes 10th at Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble
Oberlin, Ohio – The Ithaca women’s cross country team ran to a 10th place finish out of 24 competing teams at Oberlin’s Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday morning.
Junior Heidi Baumbach (Lake Placid/Lake Placid) led the Bombers for the fifth time this season with a 16th-place finish, crossing the line in a season-best 22 minutes, 44 seconds on the six-kilometer course.
Also recording season-best times were seniors Alissa Kersey (Sandy Creek/Sodus) and Liz Schloss (Canterbury/Fort Wayne, Ind.). Finishing second and third, respectively, for Ithaca, Kersey placed 21st and Schloss 54th. Kersey finished in 22:53.60 and Schloss crossed the line in 23:29.50.
Senior Catherine Ortiz (Newburgh Free Academy/Newburgh) finished in 61st place notching a time of 23:38.60 followed closely by teammate and freshman Jodi Robinson (Rush/Rush-Henrietta) in 64th. Robinson finished with a time 23:40.40.
Sixth to finish for the Bombers was sophomore Megan Schenk (Brick Township/Brick, N.J.) in 71st place with a time of 23:49.30, while freshman Hannah Craig (Upper Arlington/Columbus, Ohio) rounded out Ithaca’s top seven scorers with an 89th-place finish of 24:13.20.
