SUFFERN, N.Y. (October 17, 2010) – Sophomore Scott Reardon lowered his career-best one-round score - set two weeks ago at 79 - by another two strokes to 77 on Sunday at the second round of the NYU/Manhattanville Invitational at the par-72 Spook Rock Golf Course. As a team, the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s golf team lowered its total from the first round (345) by 14 strokes to 331, making their two-day total 676.
Freshman Tom Lauria and junior John Ziegler also had good showings in the second round, as both Ducks turned in scores of 84. The team finished in seventh place.
Elms College won the team title by four strokes over SUNY Delhi. Both teams were tied after the first day of play. Brendan Doyle (Beverly Hills, Calif.) of Columbia University was the player with the lowest score over the tournament, a +1 145.
