ITHACA, N.Y. – The Bomber men’s cross country team improved its Atlantic Region ranking to fifth, its highest mark this season, announced Tuesday in the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches of America poll. Ithaca has been ranked for six consecutive weeks, most recently sixth on Oct. 12.

Ithaca, who is the only Empire 8 team regionally ranked, raced to an eighth-place finish out of 31 competing teams on Saturday at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin. Graduate student William Way (Cheltenham/Glenside, Pa.) ran to a 17th-place finish on the eight-kilometer course finishing in 25 minutes, 34.80 seconds to lead the Bombers. Way, who ran a career-best time, was named Empire 8 Runner of the Week with the performance.
