Ithaca Men's Cross Country Competes at NYSCTC Championships
Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – The Ithaca men’s cross country team ran to a fifth place finish out of 10 competing teams at the 2010 New York State Collegiate Track Conference Championships on Saturday.
Junior Dan Craighead (Ithaca/Ithaca) led the Bombers in 24th place having crossed the line of the eight-kilometer course in 26 minutes, 30 seconds.
Next to finish for the Blue & Gold was junior Brian Keefe (Simsbury/Simsbury, Conn.) in 35th place with a 27:00 finish.
Junior Brian McCormick (Minnechaug/Wilbraham, Mass.) and sophomore David Geary (Brighton/Rochester) finished the race 45th and 48th with season-best times of 27:29 and 27:41, respectively.
Also collecting a season-best time was junior Jacob Brower (Downers Grove/Downers Grove, Ill.) who finished in 51st place in 27:52 followed in 52nd place by sophomore Chris Lotsbom (Walpole/Walpole, Mass.) with a 27:54 finish. Lotsbom improved his season best time by over 30 seconds.
Sophomore Paul Jensen (Binghamton/Binghamton) rounded out the Bombers’ top seven finishers in 61st place.
Jensen crossed the finish line in 28:19.
