John Hu Named CollegeSwimming.com National Swimmer of the Week

HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 27, 2010) – Sophomore John Hu of the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s swimming team was named the CollegeSwimming.com Division III National Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday morning. Hu recorded a pair of NCAA B-cuts as well as two first-place finishes as the Ducks dominated New York University and SUNY Cortland in winning the NYU Fall Invitational this past weekend. Hu’s B-cuts and victories came in the 400-yard individual medley and 200-yard butterfly, turning in times of 4:01.50 and 1:53.41, respectively. The Oak, Harbor, Wash. native also took the top spot in the 200-yard IM with a 1:57.27, while placing second in the 200-yard backstroke (1:58.27). In addition to the individual wins, Hu was a member of the 400-yard freestyle and medley relay teams that took first place. In the season-opening dual at MSU, Hu won the 200-yard freestyle, notching a 1:47.34. Stevens went on to win, 171-87.
