Ithaca Men's Soccer Earns First Conference Win

Alfred, N.Y. - The Ithaca men's soccer team (2-5-3, 1-2-0 Empire 8) scored a first-half goal and went on to a 1-0 victory over Alfred (4-5-1, 0-3-0 Empire 8) Sunday at Merrill Field. The Bombers held a dominant 19-6 advantage in shots in the contest.

Sophomore forward Max Grigri (Gateway Regional/Wenonah, N.J.) scored Ithaca's goal in the 15th minute on an assist from senior midfielder Jeff Geyer (Rham/Hebron, Conn.). Grigri now shares the team lead in goals (2) and points (4) on the season.

Senior goalkeeper Justin Parlapiano (Stafford/Stafford Springs, Conn.) earned the shutout and made one save. He also kept a clean sheet through the first half Saturday at St. John Fisher.
