Hartwick Swimming and Diving Rolls Past Utica
ONEONTA, NY - The Hartwick men's swimming and diving team maintained its perfect season record on Saturday with a 153-69 victory over Utica College.
Junior Michael Phillips (Austin, TX), sophomores Kenny Kleso (Milford, PA) and Chris Willox (Dresher, PA)<, and freshman John Wojtech (Bremerton, WA) each won two events for the Hartwick men, who swept all 13 events on the day. Phillips won the 200 freestyle (1:48.47) and the 200 breaststroke (2:15.40), Kleso took the 1000 free (10:37.97) and the 500 free (5:03.10), Willcox won the 200 IM (2:07.37) and the 200 butterfly (2:07.43), and Wojtech earned victories in the 50 free (22.25) and 100 free (48.93).
Divers Josh Morey (Gloversville, NY) and Nate Quinn (Fonda, NY), and Cody Cupit (Nacogdoches, TX) each earned first in their respective events. Morey was tops in the 1-meter event with a score of 155.00, Quinn took the 3-meter competition with 223.10 points, and Cupit registered a win in the 200 back (2:07.28).
Cupit, Wojtech, Phillips, and Jon Stein (Falmouth, ME) teamed up for victory in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:45.01. Cupit, Willcox, Lydon Schultz (Mount Pleasant, SC), and Kaird Durocher (Bethlehem, PA) secured a win in 400 medley relay in 3:25.96.
