Another Victory For Ithaca Women's Swimming & Diving
ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca women's swimming & diving team (2-0) was boosted by three multi-event individual winners and scored a 195-98 victory over Rensselaer (1-1) Saturday at Hill Center Pool.
Senior Sheila Rhoades (Dryden/Dryden), junior Missy Keesler (Union-Endicott/Endicott) and sophomore Madi Sherry (Hamburg/Orchard Park) all won two individual events. Rhoades> won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.28 seconds and the 100 free in 53.25 seconds. Keesler won both backstroke events, winning the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.75 and the 200 back in 2:12.18. Sherry won the 100 breast (1:09.15) and 200 breast (2:33.96).
Graduate student Jen Heberton (Darien/Darien, Conn.) won the 100 fly in 1:01.25 and freshman Fiona Mancuso (Hershey/Hummelstown, Pa.) won the 200 fly in 2:16.23.
Graduate student Naomi Mark (Dansville/Dansville) was Ithaca's top diver in the meet. She placed first on the 1-meter board with 229.20 points and second on the 3-meter board with 221.02 points.
Sophomore Carly Jones (Liverpool/Liverpool) won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:02.15 and senior Maddie Kennedy (Head Royce/Alameda, Calif.) won the 500 free in 5:33.61.
Ithaca started the meet with victory in the 400-yard medley relay (4:07.85) behind Keesler, Sherry, Heberton and freshman Elizabeth Gawrys (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa).
