Hartwick Swimming and Diving Rolls Past Utica

ONEONTA, NY - The Hartwick's women's swimming and diving team maintained its perfect season record on Saturday with a 152-70 victory over Utica College.

The Hartwick women won all 11 swimming events on the day, highlighted by double victories by juniors Stephanie Ha (Everett, WA) and Sam McFarland (Derry, PA). Ha earned first-place finishes in the 200 IM (2:16.30) and the 200 back (2:15.39). McFarland won the 200 free (2:03.82) and 100 free (57.79).

Freshmen Colleen Russell (New Windsor, NY) and Jaclyn Perra (New Hartford, NY) each won events for the first time in their short careers with the Hawks. Russell was first in the 1000 free (11:31.10) and Perra took top honors in the 500 free (5:39.24).

Kristen Grunert (Oakland, CA), Mallory Weber (Naperville, IL), and Whitney Fletcher (Superior, CO) also turned in first-place efforts for 'Wick. Grunert won the 50 free (26.70), Weber won the 200 fly (2:21.13), and Fletcher was tops in the 200 breast (2:36.70).

Ha, Fletcher, Weber, and Grunert combined for a win in the 400 medley relay (4:16.22) to start the day off. McFarland, Erin Holladay (Everett, WA), Kelly Shanley (Rockville Centre, NY), and Lindsey Bierwert (Leeds, MA) closed the afternoon with a win in the 400 free relay (4:17.38).
