Ithaca Women's Swimming & Diving Cruises To Win Over William Smith

Geneva, N.Y. - The Ithaca women's swimming & diving team (4-0) posted a 155-84 win over host William Smith Tuesday. The Bombers are idle until competing at Hamilton Saturday, Nov. 20, against Geneseo, Hartwick and the host Continentals.

Senior Sheila Rhoades (Dryden/Dryden) set a pool record with her split of 24.73 seconds in the 50 free to lead off the 200 freestyle relay that Ithaca timed in at 1:44.55 seconds to win the race in exhibition. The other members of that relay were freshman Carlene Ostromecki (Boyertown/Gilbertville, Pa.), junior Missy Keesler (Union-Endicott/Endicott) and senior Maddie Kennedy (Head Royce/Alameda, Calif.). Keesler also won the 200 free in 2:05.55 and Kennedy won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:06.75.

Rhoades won the 500 free in 5:31.06.

Senior Sarah Winder (Garfield/Seattle, Wash.) won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:29.70.
