Dominic Catalano Leads Stevens Men's Cross Country at Regionals
ONEONTA, N.Y. (November 13, 2010) – Junior Dominic Catalano led the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s cross country team for the first time in his career as the Ducks finished 24th out of the 39 programs at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championships held at 8k Fortin Park in Oneonta, N.Y. on Saturday.
Catalano crossed the wire at 27:11. Catalano was 102nd out of the 268 runners and junior Steven Chick finished 131st in 27:40. Freshman Louis Stengel chipped in with his time of 28:05, and Julian Gallo and Andrew Verderame finished close together at 28:21 and 28:29. SUNY-Geneseo won the Atlantic Regional title and Lee Berube (Putnam Station, N.Y.) of the Blue Knights earned the individual title, crossing the tape at 24:27.
It will be the last meet of the season for the Stevens cross country programs. The indoor track team will have its first competition December 5 at the Collegiate Track Conference Relays in New Haven, Conn.
