Ithaca Men's Swimming & Diving Goes 2-1 at Hamilton Quad Meet
Clinton, N.Y. -- The Ithaca men's swimming & diving team (5-1) picked up victories over Hamilton, 146.5-95.5, and Hartwick, 133-110, and fell to Geneseo, 130-113, on Saturday at the Hamilton quad meet.
The Bombers claimed three events, two swimming and a diving, as the squad dropped their first match-up of the 2010-11 season.
Taylor Van Cott (Bethlehem/Delmar) was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly as the freshman clocked in at 2:02.65.
At the 1-meter board, sophomore Martin Brown (McLean/McLean, Va.) tallied 231.25 points to win the event, while also placing second in the 3-meter dive with 245.30 points.
The Bombers capped the day with a 3:16.51 victory in the 400-yard freestyle. Junior Jeff Rapp (Liverpool/Liverpool) swam Ithaca’s first leg followed by sophomore Jake Robbins (Fairport/Fairport), freshman John Carr (Brewster/Brewster) and junior Antoine Connors (Spartanburg/Spartanburg, S.C.) who anchored the team.
