Waverly, Iowa – Graduate student William Way (Cheltenham/Glenside, Pa.) ran to a 25th-place finish out of 279 runners at the NCAA Division III cross country championship meet on Saturday to cap his all-conference, all-state and all-region season. With the finish, Way became Ithaca’s eighth men’s cross country All-American and first since Mike Styczynski earned All-America honors in 2003 with a 24th-place finish.

Way, a four-time Empire 8 Runner of the Week, completed the eight-kilometer course in a career-best 24 minutes, 47.80 seconds to improve his ranking on Ithaca’s all-time record list to third. He is the first Bomber to race at the NCAA championships since Curt Bell competed as an individual in 2008 with a 128th-place finish.
