Nazareth Defeats Pitt-Bradford, 117-29

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Junior Rachael Phipps set school and pool records in the 100-meter freestyle Saturday as Nazareth improved to 4-1 in women's swimming and diving with a 117-29 victory over Pitt-Bradford.

Phipps posted a winning time of 1:00.05 in the 100 free. She also swam on two winning relays -- the 400-meter medley relay (4:56.60) and the 200-meter free relay (1:59.01). In the 100 free, Phipps broke a school record of 1:00.94 held by Kim Schneider since 1994 and the pool record of 1:00.25 held by Geneseo's Danielle Schoen since 1999.

Phipps was joined by McKenna Murphy, Rachel House and Rachel Hains in the 400 medley relay and Makenzie Williams, Karisa Kobel and Amanda Rogers< in the 200 free relay.

Junior Jaclyn Conklin also won two races -- the 200-meter IM (2:38.91) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:10.57). Other winners were freshman Kristen Bondi in the 800-meter freestyle; sophomore Rachel Hayes in the 200-meter freestyle (2:19.86); sophomore McKenna Murphy in the 50-meter freestyle (:29.35); freshman Rachel Hains in the 100-meter backstroke (1:16.35); and junior Lara Spiegel in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:25.93).
