Ithaca Women's Swimming & Diving Remains Perfect

Bombers Go 3-0 at Hamilton Quad

Clinton, N.Y. -- The Ithaca women's swimming & diving team (7-0) picked up 173-70 victories over Hamilton and Hartwick, while defeating Geneseo, 125-118, on Saturday at the Hamilton quad meet.

The Bombers claimed five events, four swimming and a diving, helping to keep the squad perfect during the 2010-11 season.

Ithaca’s 400-yard medley relay opened the meet with a victory as the squad of junior Missy Keesler (Union-Endicott/Endicott), sophomore Madi Sherry (Hamburg/Orchard Park), freshman Fiona Mancuso< (Hershey/Hummelstown, Pa.) and senior Sheila Rhoades (Dryden/Dryden) finished in 4:04.16, over three seconds faster than the second-place team.

Rhoades also recorded an individual victory in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 24.18 seconds and sophomore Carly Jones (Liverpool/Liverpool) won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:12.52.

Ithaca’s final two event victories came at the 1 and 3-meter dives. Freshman Korie Fackler (Central Dauphin East/Harrisburg, Pa.) placed first on the 1-meter board with 222.10 points and junior Jodi Costello (Framingham/Framingham, Mass.) was victorious on the 3-meter board with 216.75 points.
