Ithaca Men's Swimming & Diving Stays Unbeaten With Win At Cortland

Cortland, N.Y. -- The men's swimming & diving team (3-0) maintained its unbeaten record, beating host Cortland 174.5-125.5 Saturday. The Bombers recorded 11 first-place finishes.

Junior Jeff Rapp (Liverpool/Liverpool), freshman Taylor VanCott (Bethlehem/Delmar) and junior Antoine Connors (Spartanburg/Spartanburg, S.C.) were all part of Ithaca's victorious 400-yard medley relay team that started the meet with a win, and each also won two individual events.

Rapp placed first in the 100-yard backstroke (56.48 seconds) and 200-yard individual medley (2:04.86). VanCott won both butterfly events, timing 54.21 in the 100 fly and 2:04.13 in the 200 fly. Connors won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.25 seconds and the 100 free in 49.17 seconds.

Sophomore Jake Lichter (Weston/Weston, Mass.) won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:02.05 and freshman Cheffy Thomas (Carmel/Carmel, Ind.) placed first in the 200 breast in 2:19.58. Ithaca's other individual event winner was senior diver Mike Glicini (Dallas/Dallas, Pa.) who scored 240.05 points to take the win on the 3-meter board.

Ithaca closed the meet with a win in the 400 free relay in 3:17.69.
