Ithaca Women's Swimming & Diving Doubles Up Cortland In Dominant Win

Cortland, N.Y. -- The women's swimming & diving team (3-0) won 13 of 16 events in a lopsided win at Cortland, outscoring the Red Dragons 203-97. Nine different Bombers recorded at least one individual event victory in swimming or diving during the lopsided win.

Graduate student diver Naomi Mark (Dansville/Dansville) won the 1-meter diving with a score fo 202.80 points and the 3-meter competition with a score of 237.70.

Junior Missy Keesler (Union-Endicott/Endicott) won both backstroke events, clocking 1:03.68 in the 100 back and 2:14.55 in the 200 back. Freshman Lindsey Davenport (Ithaca/Newfield) touched first in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:16.79 and junior Kelly Murphy (Blake/Silver Spring, Md.) won the 500 free in 5:25.18.

Ithaca won two sprint freestyle events as senior Sheila Rhoades (Dryden/Dryden) won the 200 free in 2:00.93 and freshman Kate Sessler (Livonia/Livonia) won the 100 free in 58.82 seconds.

Sophomore Carly Jones (Liverpool/Liverpool) won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:13.84 and sophomore Madi Sherry (Hamburg/Orchard Park) won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.84. Freshman Fiona Mancuso (Hershey/Hummelstown, Pa.) won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:15.98.

Ithaca was also victorious in both the 400 medley relay (4:05.91) and the 400 free relay (3:43.80).
