ITHACA, N.Y. – Four members of the Ithaca College women’s soccer team have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) East Region All-Star Team. Sophomore forward Rachael Palladino (Lansing/Groton) and her sister Megan Palladino (Lansing/Groton), a sophomore back, earned first-team honors. Sophomore midfielder Caroline Jastremski (Notre Dame Academy/Staten Island) was a second-team pick and senior goalkeeper Jessica Platt (Monument Mountain/New Marlborough, Mass.) was named to the third team.

Rachael Palladino earned all-region honors for the second straight season (she was a second-team selection as a freshman). She was named Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year and was a first-team all-conference pick for the second year in a row. She was the team and conference’s leading scorer with school-record totals of 20 goals and 45 points. Palladino had eight game-winning goals this season (another Ithaca record) and already ranks sixth all-time with 32 goals and seventh all-time with 76 points on the program’s career lists. As a freshman, she earned second-team all-region recognition and was the Empire 8 and ECAC Upstate NY Rookie of the Year after setting Bomber freshman records with 12 goals, seven assists and 31 points. She was named MVP of the Empire 8 Championship Tournament and is a four-time Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week in her career.

Another first-team Empire 8 all-star, Megan Palladino started every match this fall after missing most of her freshman season with an injury. She was moved to defense this season and anchored a unit that ranked 22nd nationally in goals-against average (Ithaca allowed only 12 goals while surrendering under six shots per game). She had one goal of her own on the season.

Jastremski is a two-year starter who ranked third on the team in scoring (four goals, six assists, 14 points). She earned second-team all-conference recognition and was named Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week after scoring both Bomber goals in a come-from-behind overtime win at Stevens. Jastremski has collected 23 points (seven goals, nine assists) in 40 career contests, including 32 starts.

Platt started 14 matches this season while making 17 appearances. She went 10-3-1 with eight shutouts (including five solo efforts). Platt, who received honorable mention to the Empire 8 all-star team, made 55 saves and compiled a 0.68 goals-against average (27th nationally) with a save percentage of .846 (40th). In her four-year career, she posted an 18-5-3 record with a 0.68 goals-against and 93 saves. She had a hand in 22 shutouts with nine solo performances.

The Bombers, 13-5-1 on the season, shared the conference title with a 7-0-1 league mark and reached the NCAA playoffs for the 22nd time (no program has made more appearances).
