Ithaca Women's Soccer Team Earns Academic Award From NSCAA
ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Bomber men's and women's soccer teams both earned College Team Academic Awards from the National Collegiate Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Ithaca was one of only 44 Division III programs out of 449 schools whose men's and women's teams both earned the award, which is given to teams who post a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00. Ithaca was the only Empire 8 school to earn the award for both its women's and men's program.
The women's team's GPA for the 2009-10 academic year was 3.44; only 70 of the nearly 2,500 college soccer programs in the nation had a higher cumulative grade-point average. The Bombers have earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award eight times since its inception in 1996 (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2010) -- more than any other Empire 8 school.
