KANSAS CITY, Kan. A total of 634 soccer programs nationwide (194 men, 440 women) posted a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 to qualify for the Team Academic award, with 130 institutions having both men’s and women’s teams honored. The Ducks posted a 3.36 team grade-point average, qualifying for the NSCAA Academic honor for the seventh time in school history.
Stevens also earned the program’s eighth NSCAA Team Ethics/Sportsmanship award under 11th-year head coach Jeff Parker, receiving the Bronze Award for having fewer than 10 yellow cards during play this season. The Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the NSCAA Team Ethics Award, recognizes programs that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the Laws of the Game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the year.
