Corey Balcerzak and Tim Bailey Named All-Americans

St. John Fisher College’s Corey Balcerzak and Tim Bailey have been named to the 2010 D3football.com All-America Team.

Balcerzak was named to the All-Americam Third Team at offensive tackle, while Bailey, the East Region’s Offensive Player of the Year, earned Honorable Mention status at quarterback.

The 2010 football season was another successful one for the Cardinals. Fisher finished with a 9-2 overall record and earned its second consecutive ECAC Division III Championship Northwest Bowl title after beating Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 52-13 in the final game of the season. It was Fisher’s eighth consecutive trip to the post-season and topped off the ninth consecutive season in which it has enjoyed a winning record.

Balcerzak, a junior right tackle, anchored an offensive line that averaged 486.7 yards per game.

Fisher put up 5,354 total yards of offense (1,993 yards rushing and 3,361 yards passing) and averaged 43.3 points per game. The Cardinals led the Empire 8 and ranked in the top 10 in NCAA Division III in scoring (43.3 points per game) and total offense (486.7 ypg). 

Balcerzak was also named to the All-Region Second Team and earned Empire 8 honors for the second straight season.

Bailey, the Empire 8’s Offensive Player of the Year, was named as the ECAC Championship Most Outstanding Player for the second straight year, and set both the Fisher single-season and career records in nearly every single passing category this fall.

He established the Fisher single-season records for completions (237), yards (3,197) and touchdowns (35), while leading the Empire 8 in all three categories. He also led the Empire 8 and ranked among the national leaders in Division III in total offense with 325.4 yards per game and a 168.1 passing efficiency.

Bailey, who started under center in all 32 games he played in, ranks as Fisher’s all-time leader in completions (628), yards (8,352), and touchdowns (77). He also ran for 666 yards and nine touchdowns during his career, including 382 yards and five touchdowns this past fall.
