ITHACA, N.Y. – Sophomore forward Rachael Palladino (Lansing/Lansing) of the Ithaca College women’s soccer team has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America team. Palladino was a third-team selection and one of just five sophomores named to the 41-member team.

Palladino earned all-region honors for the second straight season (she was a second-team selection as a freshman). She was named Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year and was a first-team all-conference pick for the second year in a row. She was the team and conference’s leading scorer with school-record totals of 20 goals and 45 points. Palladino had eight game-winning goals this season (another Ithaca record) and already ranks sixth all-time with 32 goals and seventh all-time with 76 points on the program’s career lists. As a freshman, she earned second-team all-region recognition and was the Empire 8 and ECAC Upstate NY Rookie of the Year after setting Bomber freshman records with 12 goals, seven assists and 31 points. She was named MVP of the Empire 8 Championship Tournament and is a four-time Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week in her career.

Her selection marks the sixth year in a row that a Bomber has earned all-America honors (a streak second only to the school-record 10 straight years with at least one all-American from 1985 to 1994). Only five other schools have been represented on the all-America team every year since 2006.

A total of 17 Bombers have now made 24 appearances on the NSCAA all-America team since 1985. Ithaca finished 13-5-1 on the season, shared the conference title with a 7-0-1 league mark and reached the NCAA playoffs for the 22nd time (no program has made more appearances).
