Two More Pool Records As Ithaca Women Wrap Up Don Richards Championship

Rochester, N.Y. - The Ithaca women's swimming & diving team established two pool records on the final day and clinched first place convincingly at the Don Richards Invitational, hosted by RIT. Senior Sheila Rhoades (Dryden/Dryden) won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.48 seconds, which was a pool record and met the NCAA A qualifying standard. Rhoades also anchored the pool-record setting 400-yard freestyle relay team, which won in 3:37.70.

She was joined on that relay by freshman Kate Sessler (Livonia/Livonia), freshman Elizabeth Gawrys (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) and sophomore Carly Jones (Liverpool/Liverpool).

Jones also placed third in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:14.51.

Ithaca was second in the 400-yard medley relay as the group of junior Missy Keesler (Union-Endicott/Endicott), sophomore Madi Sherry (Orchard Park/Orchard Park), freshman Fiona Mancuso (Hershey/Hummelstown, Pa.) and Rhoades timed in at 4:02.95.
