ITHACA, N.Y. - The #28 women's soccer team (3-1-0) defeated Plattsburgh 5-1 Saturday afternoon at Carp Wood Field, handing the #23 Cardinals their first loss of the year (3-1-0). Sophomore Rachael Palladino (Lansing/Groton) scored a career-best six points.

Palladino raised her career total to 45 points; four games into her second season she ranks 21st on the program's all-time scoring list. She opened Saturday's scoring with a goal in the 24th minute, beating Plattbsurgh's keeper one-on-one with a left-footed shot that went off the post into the net. Freshman Jackie Robadaugh (Central Mountain/Mill Hall, Pa.) picked up the assist.

After the Cardinals tied the score five minutes later, Rodabaugh tallied the game-winner by taking a pass from Palladino and beating the goalkeeper from eight yards out.

Palladino added another assist less than two minutes before halftime when junior Megan Trager  (Sharon/Sharon, Mass.) converted a rebound of her shot. She closed out the scoring in the 67th minute with an unassisted goal that she put into the left corner of the net.

Palladino and Rodabaugh both have six goals and two assists on the season.

Freshman Meredith Jones (Gwynedd Mercy Academy/Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) recorded her first career goal, heading in a free kick by sophomore Julie Winn (Sutton/Sutton, Mass.) in the 55th minute.

The Bombers outshot Plattsburgh 22-10. Senior Jessica Platt  (Monument Mountain/New Marlborough, Mass.) made eight saves in goal; classmate Alyssa Sotomayor (East Brunswick/East Brunswick, N.J.) stopped one shot while playing the final 10:25.
