Stevens Men's Swimming Posts Program-Best Finish at NCAA Meet

Ducks Finish 17th at NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships

Junior Evan Wilson, freshman Alex Benham, and freshman John Hu led the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s swimming team to a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. The finish was by far the best in the history of the program as the trio combined to earn the Ducks a team total of 52.5 points.

Day 1
Hu earned honorable mention All-America accolades in the 200-yard individual medley, turning in a 1:52.99 and finishing in 13th. In the prelims Hu broke his own school-record with a time of 1:52.14.

Day 2
Wilson set a program-record in the 400-yard individual medley – placing fifth – and Hu took eighth. Both athletes earned All-America honors for their performances with Wilson touching at 3:56.98 and Hu clocking a 3:59.70. The duo teamed to earn 25 points.

Day 3
Hu took ninth place and earned honorable mention All-America honors in the 200-yard butterfly. He clocked a 1:50.73, broke his own school-record, and earned the team nine points.

Day 4
On the final day of competition Wilson finished ninth (15:48.83) in the 1650-yard freestyle and Benham was 11th (15:55.92) in the same event. Both athletes were honorable mention All-American and totaled 15 points.
