ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Kameron Chambliss of Alfred University was named Diver of the Meet for the second consecutive year and senior teammate Andrew Brisson was selected as Empire 8 Swimmer of the Meet at the 2010 Empire 8 Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship held in conjunction with the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association Championship.

Chambliss swept the one- and three-meter diving events in the conference for the second year in a row, while capturing the state title in each event for the first time.  He automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships with his scores of 466.35 on the one-meter board and an Empire 8 championship record of 497.05 on the three-meter board.

Brisson won state and Empire 8 titles in the 100-yard freestyle in 46.42 seconds and the 200-yard freestyle in 1:41.80, meeting the provisional qualifying standard for the national meet.  He swam on the Saxons’ conference-winning 400-yard medley relay that finished first in 3:27.83 and the runner-up 400-yard freestyle relay (3:07.13), both of which met the NCAA “B” cut.

Freshman John Hu of Stevens Institute of Technology was chosen as Empire 8 Rookie of the Meet.  He won state and conference titles in the 200-yard individual medley (1:53.21) and the 200-yard butterfly (1:53.82), provisionally qualifying for the national championship in each event.  His time in the 200 IM set Empire 8 championship and school records.  Hu placed second in the conference in the 400-yard IM in 4:04.59.

Trevor Miele of Stevens was unanimously named Empire 8 Coach of the Year for leading the Ducks to the conference and state titles.

One member of each team was named that institution’s representative on the 2010 Men’s Swimming and Diving Sportsman of the Year Team.  Empire 8 emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete’s experience in conjunction with an institution’s educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen.
