Utica Finishes as Top Empire 8 Squad at Oneonta
ONEONTA, NY (9/17/2010) – The Utica College men’s cross country team was the top Empire 8 Conference finisher at the 2010 Oneonta State Airfield Cross Country Pre-Regional Invitational Friday afternoon. The Pioneers placed 13th overall in the 19 team tournament, ahead of conference foes Ithaca College, Nazareth College and Hartwick College. Junior Brian Stevens was the top finisher for the Pioneers with a time of 26:38.3, good for 48th place out of 288 runners, in the men’s 8K.
Freshman Morgan Payne took 63rd overall with a time of 26:53.2 for the men, while sophomore Hunter Padgett placed 75th with a finishing time of 27:05.9. Freshman Robert Baird rounded out the top four finishers for Utica with a time of 27:34, good for 87th place.
