Nazareth Opens Conference Play With Two Victories
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth won its first two matches Saturday at RIT during the first day of the Empire 8 Conference Crossover for women's volleyball. The Golden Flyers improved to 7-9 overall and 2-0 in conference matches with straight-set wins over Alfred (25-8, 25-19, 25-16) and Hartwick (25-20, 26-24, 29-27).
Sophomore #Amy Johnson had 10 kills in 12 attempts against Alfred for a hitting percentage of .833. Graduate student Carra Vanderstyne had eight kills and sophomore Brittany Crocetti had 28 assists. In the Hartwick match, Vanderstyne had 10 kills and senior Kristi Custer had nine. Crocetti had 31 assists.
