Elmira Captures Title at Elmira Invitational
Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College Women’s Golf team claimed first place honors at the 2010 Fall Elmira College Invitational Monday afternoon. The women posted an overall score of 386 as the rain fell throughout the day.
First year player Brianna MacDonald ’14 (Somersworth, NH -- Somersworth) was the top-performer of the day registering a score of 94 for the Invitational. EC’s Kristen Niemann ’12 (Youngsville, NY -- Sullivan West) and Marissa Noto ’14 (Waterbury, CT -- Woodland Regional) finished a close second and third shooting scores of 95 and 96 respectively.
Hillary Irvine ’11 (New Britain, CT -- Williston-Northampton School) and Hannah Weldon ’11 (Braintree, MA -- Braintree) also shot the ball well in the soggy conditions. Irvine recorded a score of 101 for the day, while Weldon completed the Invitational with a score of 117.
