St. John Fisher Baseball Ranked 23rd In National Pre-Season Poll
The St. John Fisher College baseball team is ranked 23rd in the national preseason poll announced by National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Last season, under the direction of first-year head coach Brandon Potter, the Cardinals enjoyed a 31-14 overall record, while winning the program’s first Empire 8 Conference title. Fisher advanced to the NCAA Division III Championship for the second time in the program's history and finished as the Regional runner-up.
Fisher returns several key players from last year’s team, including Empire 8 Rookie of the Year Ben Bostick and 2009 Empire 8 Player of the Year Leo Fusilli.
Fisher opens its 2010 season on February 27th, when it travels down to Winter Haven, Florida to participate in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. The Cardinals’ first home game is March 29th at 3 p.m. against the College at Brockport.
