Mohamed Abuouf Qualifies for ECAC's at Cardinal Invite

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (January 22, 2011) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s track and field team was in action Saturday at Wesleyan University’s Cardinal Invitational, where Junior Mohamed Abuouf won the 55-meter hurdles competition with an ECAC-qualifying time of 7.96 seconds for the Ducks’ best showing of the day.

Other highlights included freshman Andrew Turnage, who turned in a time of 16:40.50 in the 5k. That finish was good enough for fifth place in the event, a new personal record and the third-fastest time in school history.

Sophomore Kyle Buzby also turned in the third-fastest time in school history in his event, posting a 600-meter time of 1:27.69.

Sophomore Drew Capone had a solid pole vault effort, placing fourth at the meet win a height of 12'6".
