MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (January 22, 2011) – Freshman Tiffany Evangelou continued her assault of the Stevens record book this season, taking the 55-meter hurdle standard with a time of 9.16 seconds. She placed third in the race at Wesleyan University’s Cardinal invitational. It is the fourth different event in which she has set a record in her inaugural year for the Ducks.

Sophomore Ashley Princiotta did the mile in 5:34.64, mere fractions of a second off from the school-record pace set by Melissa Franzese in 2009.

Freshman Kelly Freed turned in a time of 3:16.92 in the 1,000-meter hurdles, second best all-time in Stevens history to the mark set by senior Shanna Bearisto last season.

Freshman Rebecca Tylock took third place in the pole vault competition, clearing the bar set at 9’6”.

In the 3,000-meter race, two Ducks set lifetime personal records, namely sophomore Katie Castroagudin and freshman Laura Lemke, with times of 11:54.20 and 12:21.20, respectively.
