Defense Leads Bombers To Easy Women's Basketball Win At Nazareth
Rochester, N.Y. -- The women's basketball team (13-5, 9-0 Empire 8) stretched its winning streak to seven, beating host Nazareth (8-10, 4-5 Empire 8) 58-45 Friday.
Senior forward Elissa Klie (Ramapo/Wyckoff, N.J.) notched 13 points, six rebounds, six steals and five assists as the Bombers beat the Golden Flyers for the 16th time in a row. Ithaca stretched its Empire 8-record streak to 27 conference wins.
Klie, who also blocked her 100th career shot (becoming the fourth Bomber to reach that total), moved into
third on Ithaca's all-time steals list by raising her total to 240.
Senior guard Jordan Confessore (South Brunswick/Kendall Park, N.J.) scored 13 points off the bench and sophomore center Devin Shea (St. Basil Academy/Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) added 12 points and a game-best eight rebounds.
Freshman guard Elisabeth Wentlent (Greene/Greene) matched a career high with six rebounds. Junior guard Jessica Farley (South Dayton/Pine Valley Central) contributed seven points and four steals (one short of her career-best).
