SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (October 1, 2011) – Junior classmates Chris Rosensteel and Shota Tasaki advanced to the semifinals of the USTA/ITA tournament on Sunday, defeating TCNJ 8-4 before falling to Vassar 8-1. Tasaki was also the only Duck still involved at singles, though he dropped his opening match today. The ITA’s are the final events of the fall season for the men’s team.

Tasaki and Rosensteel began the day by taking down the TCNJ delegation of Dan Lee (Abington, Pa.) and TJ Riley (Mount Laurel, N.J.) by an 8-4 count before falling the brothers Guzick of Vassar – junior Andrew Guzick and senior Ben Guzick, (both of Rochester, N.Y.) 8-1.

Tasaki was pulling double duty on Saturday, as he also advanced to the tournament’s second day at singles. He dropped his third-round matchup with Miles Ransom (Delray Beach, Fla.) of Skidmore, 6-4, 6-3.

This concludes the fall season for the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s tennis team. The traditional season for the Ducks will begin in March.
