Ithaca Paces Its Way to a Fifth-Place Finish at Oberlin
Oberlin, Ohio – The Ithaca women’s cross country team ran to a fifth -place finish out of 33 teams on Saturday at Oberlin’s Inter-Regional Rumble.
Senior Heidi Baumbach (Lake Placid/Lake Placid) led the squad finishing seventh out of 282 runners with a time of 22:42.40. It was a season-best time for Baumbach on the six-kilometer course.
Graduate student Alissa Kersey (Sandy Creek/Sodus), who also clocked a season-best performance, finished 24th with a time of 23:10.90, while freshman Alexa Rick (Elyria Catholic/Elyria, Ohio) followed in 49th place with a time of 23:43.90.
Junior Carly Graham (West Genesee/Syracuse) ran 59th with a time of 23:59.90 and senior Molly Quinn (C.W. Baker/Baldwinsville) was right behind her in 64th place. Quinn was the third Bomber to tally a season-best performance on the day, crossing the finish line in 24:02.80.
Freshman Anastasia Diamond (Pennsbury/Yardley, Pa.) rounded out the Bombers’ runners with a 110th-place finish in 24:55.80.
