Nazareth defeats Alfred, 182-98
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Nazareth women's swimming and diving team opened its regular season Saturday by defeating visiting Alfred 184-98.

Sophomore Maura Reissig won the 200-meter backstroke in 2:35.82. Reissig also won the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:37.34. Junior Carissa Risucci also placed first for the Golden Flyers in the 200-meter breaststroke (2:48.04) and the 100-meter breaststroke (1:17.61). Also placing first in multiple events was junior McKenna Murphy. Murphy finished the 200-meter butterfly in 2:38.84 and the 400-meter freestyle in 4:52.15.
Also placing first in their events for the Golden Flyers were senior Rachel Hayes in the 800-meter freestyle (10:13.15), senior Jaclyn Conklin in the 200-meter freestyle (2:18.97), and senior Rachael Phipps in the 50-meter freestyle (0:28.02).
Nazareth won the 200-meter medley relay in 2:08.61. Members of the relay team were Reissig, Risucci, sophomore Karisa Kobel and Phipps. The Golden Flyers also won the 200-meter freestyle relay with a time of 1:56.14. Sophomores Emily Sauter and Mallorie Dygert joined with seniors Holly Gilligan and Conklin to win the relay.
