Ithaca Women’s Cross Country, Baumbach Win Hamilton Invitational

Clinton, N.Y. – Senior Heidi Baumbach (Lake Placid/Lake Placid) ran to a first-place finish out of 141 runners to lead the Bombers to a first-place finish out of 11 teams on Saturday at the Hamilton Invitational.

Baumbach crossed the finish line of the five-kilometer race in a season-best time of 18:41.50.

Graduate student Alissa Kersey (Sandy Creek/Sodus) also clocked a season-best time in finishing fourth in 19:04.40.

Three other Bombers placed in the top 10 as freshman Alexa Rick (Elyria Catholic/Elyria, Ohio) placed sixth, junior Carly Graham (West Genesee/Syracuse) eighth and senior Molly Quinn (C.W. Baker/Baldwinsville) 10th. Rick finished the course in 19:17.20, Graham in 19:33.10 and Quinn in 19:41.30.

Senior Molly Brown (North Penn/Landsdale, Pa.) ran sixth for the Bombers, and 14th overall, with a time of 19:51.90, while freshman Anastasia Diamond (Pennsbury/Yardley, Pa.) finished 21st in 20:06.30.
