Rapp Leads Ithaca Men's Swimming & Diving To Two Victories
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca men's swimming & diving team defeated Geneseo 191-108 and Hamilton 233-60 but fell to Hartwick 165-135 in a quad meet Saturday afternoon at the Athletics & Events Center Aquatics Pavilion. Ithaca is now 6-1 on the season.
Senior Jeff Rapp (Liverpool/Liverpool) contributed event victories in two individual events and was also a part of the Bombers' winning 200-yard medley relay. Rapp won the 100-yard backstroke in 53.34 seconds and the 200-yard backstroke in 1:58.15. He teamed with sophomore Connor White (Fox Lane/Pound Ridge), freshman Logan Metzger (Lewisburg Area/Winfield, Pa.) and junior Jake Robbins (Fairport/Fairport) to win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:36.33.
Ithaca senior diver Derek Rand (Amity Regional/Orange, Conn.) placed first on the 1-meter board with a score of 249.45 point.
The Bombers also picked up a victory in 400-yard freestyle relay behind the efforts of Robbins, Metzger, sophomore John Carr (Brewster/Brewster) and junior Chris Cadwell (C.W. Baker/Baldwinsville).
