Hartwick Sweeps Quad Meet at Ithaca

ITHACA, NY- The Hartwick men's swimming team was victorious over Geneseo, Hamilton, and Ithaca.

The Hawks defeated Geneseo 196-102, Hamilton 239-49, and Ithaca 165-135. The Knights have won the last 13 SUNYAC titles while the Bombers are the defending Empire 8 champs. Hartwick won a total of 11 events on the day.

Michael Phillips (Austin, TX) was the big winner for the Hawks as he won three races. All those times set pool records. Phillips claimed the 200 breast (2:08.54), the 100 breast (58.35), and the 200 IM (1:55.78). Lydon Schultz (Mount Pleasant, SC) won two races on the day. He was victorious in the 50 free (21.78) and the 100 free (47.54). Both of Kleso and Blaney's times set new pool records along with Schultz's 100 free time. Other winners on the day included Chris Willcox (Dresher, PA) as he took the 200 butterfly in a time of 1:58.11. His time set a new pool record.

Kenny Kleso (Millford, PA) won the 500 free with a time of 4:47.88. Miles Blaney (New York, NY) was the winner of the 100 fly with a time of 52.73. Cody Cupit (Nacogdoches, TX) came close to winning the 200 back but lost by .79 seconds to Jeffrey Rapp of Ithaca. Rapp's time was 1:58.15 and Cupit's time was 1:58.54. Joshua Morey (Gloversville, NY) won the three-meter dive with a score of 259.10.
