Elmira Women’s Volleyball to Host Empire 8 Championships Saturday and Sunday
Elmira, NY – The Elmira College Women’s Volleyball team used a 2-1 weekend at St. John Fisher College in the second weekend of the Empire 8 Crossover play to take home the regular season title. The Soaring Eagles ended conference play at 6-1 overall, finishing one game ahead of conference foes Stevens, Nazareth and St. John Fisher.
Overall in Empire 8 play the Purple and Gold have remarkably dropped just four sets over seven matches. EC owns straight set, 3-0 victories, over Nazareth, St. John Fisher, Alfred and Utica. The Soaring Eagles have defeated Ithaca and Hartwick in four sets, and it’s only loss came to Stevens in five sets this past weekend.

3:30 p.m. – Stevens (3) vs. Nazareth (2)
Sunday, November 6, 2011 – Finals
1:00 p.m. – Winner of first match vs. Winner of second match
