Jordan WIlkins Earns All-Region Honors
MINNEAPOLIS, MN - D3football.com announced its 2011 All-East Region Teams on Wednesday morning, with Hartwick senior wide receiver Jordan Wilkins (Portsmouth, NH/Hyde School) earning distinction. Wilkins was named second team all-region for his efforts for the Hawks in his final season with the program.
Wilkins, a Consensus Draft Services Preseason All-American, is now eligible for d3football.com All-America honors which will be announced on December 17 at the Division III national championship game in Salem, VA.
This season, Wilkins collected 1,119 receiving yards to mark his second straight 1,000-yard season for Hartwick football. His 111.9 yards per game average ranks 13th in Division III football and he is also tied for 35th in receptions per game (6.3).
Wilkins led the Empire 8 Conference in reception yards per game for the second straight season and he was the only player in the league to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark. He also caught an Empire 8-high eight touchdown passes in 2011.
Over the final four games of the season, Wilkins registered at least 100 receiving yards. Two of those contests were against NCAA Tournament quarterfinalists Salisbury and St. John Fisher, in which Wilkins accumulated a total of 271 yards on 16 catches with one touchdown. For his efforts in the league, Wilkins was named to the Empire 8 First Team for the first time in his career.
Wilkins gained 2,400 receiving yards in a Hartwick uniform over the course of his career. He ranks 6th in yardage, 7th in catches (132), and eighth in touchdown receptions (21) in the Hartwick College football record books.
