HOBOKEN, N.J. (December 7, 2011) – Sophomore Louise Moores (Mukilteo, Wash.) was named the CollegeSwimming.com/Counsilman Hunsaker Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday morning. Moores was named the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Meet after leading the Ducks to the pogram’s first-ever title this past weekend.

The Stevens sophomore had four individual wins and set multiple records at the three-day event. Moores tallied an NCAA A-cut, along with ECAC- and school-records in the 100-yard backstroke with her time of 55.72. She earned another A-cut in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking a 55.58, again setting ECAC- and school-records.

The Mukilteo, Wash. native also carded B-cuts in winning the 50- and 100-yard freestyles. Her 23.51 was good for a championship-record in the 50, while her 51.45 did the same in the 100.

Moores assisted on four relays that earned victories as well. The 200-yard medley clocked an NCAA B-cut time of 1:45.05, the 400-medley turned in a 3:52.36 and B-cut, the 200-free relay tallied a 1:35.22, B-cut and ECAC record, and the 400-free relay finished in 3:26 which was also good for a B-cut.

Moores earned National Swimmer of the Week honors on October 27, 2010 and it is the third time in program history a Stevens women’s swimmer has earned the honor.

Stevens will return to competitive action on January 21 at Johns Hopkins University following an early-January training trip to Puerto Rico.
