Alfred, N.Y. -- The women's basketball team (17-5, 13-0 Empire 8) clinched the conference regular-season title and the top seed in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament with a 73-43 rout of host Alfred (9-14, 4-10 Empire 8). The Bombers, who've won 11 in a row, will host the league's fourth-place team in a semifinal game Friday, Feb. 25 at a time to be announced by the conference office.

Junior guard Jessica Farley (South Dayton/Pine Valley Central) led Ithaca with 12 points and senior forward Elissa Klie (Ramapo/Wyckoff, N.J.) -- the only Bomber to play more than 24 minutes -- recorded 10 points, six rebounds, a career-best four blocked shots, four assists and three steals.

Freshman forward Jennifer Escobido (Norwich Free Academy/Lisbon, Conn.) added nine points and sophomore forward Elizabeth Conti (Algonquin Regional/Southboro, Mass.) matched Klie with a team-best six rebounds.

The Bombers held Alfred to just 15 baskets and just one in the game's first nine minutes. By the time they scored their second basket, the Saxons trailed 23-4.

Ithaca turned Alfred's 24 turnovers into 30 points; the Saxons scored only two points off turnovers. The Bombers' win was their 34th in a row over Alfred (they lead the all-time series with the Saxons 44-4) and stretched their conference-record winning streak to 31 games.
