Bombers’ Men’s Lacrosse Team Ranked in Preseason USILA Poll
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca men’s lacrosse team is ranked 31st in the 2011 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Bombers return 20 letter winners from the 2010 team that went 8-10 overall, 5-3 in the Empire 8. A 2010 USILA All-America Honorable Mention, senior goalkeeper David Gal (Loomis Chafee/Amherst, Mass.) is joined by classmates Ryan Lowe (Fairport/Fairport) and Jay Lucas (Fox Lane/Bedford Hills) as returning Empire 8 All-Stars.
Ithaca won three games against nationally ranked opponents during the season. The squad advanced to the Empire 8 title game last season for the fifth time in seven years having defeated 11th-ranked St. John Fisher, 12-11, in the tournament semifinals.
The Bombers open their season on Wednesday, March 9 at Lycoming.
