ITHACA, N.Y. – Graduate student William Way (Cheltenham/Glenside, Pa.) was one of 142 student-athletes, representing 80 institutions, recognized by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in earning 2010 Division III men’s cross country all-academic accolades.

Way, the only Empire 8 athlete honored, ran to a 25th-place finish out of 279 runners at the NCAA Division III cross country championship meet to cap his all-conference, all-state and all-region season. With the finish, Way became Ithaca’s eighth men’s cross country All-American. A four-time Empire 8 Runner of the Week, Way completed the eight-kilometer course in a career-best 24 minutes, 47.80 seconds to improve his ranking on Ithaca’s all-time record list to third.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the most-recent semester and placed in the top 35 at the NCAA Regional Championships.
