ITHACA, N.Y. – The 2010 Ithaca men’s cross country team earned all-academic status from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Ithaca’s grade point average of 3.44 ranks as the 25th highest out of the 380 NCAA schools sponsoring men’s cross country.

The Bombers ran to its fourth Empire 8 crown in November before placing seventh at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championship. Graduate student William Way (Cheltenham/Glenside, Pa.) advanced to the national championships where he finished in 25th place out of 279 runners. With the finish, Way became Ithaca’s eighth men’s cross country All-American, completing the eight-kilometer course in a career-best 24 minutes, 47.80 seconds to improve his ranking on Ithaca’s all-time record list to third.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic cross country team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better and have compiled a score, finishing at least five runners, at their respective NCAA regional championship.
