Two More Victories For Ithaca on Spring Trip

Clermont, Fla. - The eighth-ranked Ithaca softball team (4-0) earned another pair of victories in the early part of the season on its spring trip with a 10-0 victory over Wisconsin-Stout and a 5-0 win over Concordia University (Wis.) Monday. Ithaca will not play Tuesday, but will face Mass.-Boston and Geneseo Wednesday.

Ithaca 5, Concordia 0

The Bombers earned the shutout behind the pitching of Allison Greaney (John F. Kennedy/Iselin, N.J.) who threw the complete game and yielded just two hits while striking out six. Freshman Sydney Folk (Long Beach/Long Beach) led the offensive attack with a key two-run double, and senior Britt Lillie (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Mendon) was 1-for-3 and had a sac fly for the Bombers.

Ithaca 10, Wis.-Stout 0 (6 innings)

Sophomore Jennifer Biondi (Morris Hills/Denville, N.J.) and senior Kerry Barger (Carmel/Carmel) had three hits apiece as Ithaca beat Stout in a shortened game due to the run rule. Both Biondi and Barger were 3-for-4 on the day with two singles, a double and two runs scored. Sophomore Adrienne Walters (Solon/Solon, Ohio) went 2-for-3 in the game. All of her hits were singles. Lillie was the winning pitcher. She threw six innings, allowed just one hit and had six strikeouts.
